The robot grippers are a collaborative end-of-arm tool that is compatible with multiple robot brands and can be used for various applications, such as material handling, machine processing, surface finishing, pick & place, testing, and similar tasks.
The fingertips of the gripper can be customized for the specific task to ensure a stable and appropriate grip. Additionally, the robot has grip indicators that automatically detect potential risks, such as dropped items, before they occur.
The implementation of OnRobot’s robot gripper is simple and can be used immediately, which can reduce programming time by up to 70%. This also contributes to increased flexibility in the production process, as the robot can operate around the clock.
Project description
The robot grippers need to handle a wide variety of items with precision and control. This requires a powerful and reliable motor that can be seamlessly integrated into the gripper’s design.
In collaboration with OnRobot, we developed an integrated electric BLDC motor for the robot gripper’s fingertips. BLDC motors are particularly known for their precision, control, and reliability, making them ideal for this type of application.
By integrating a BLDC motor into OnRobot’s robot grippers, the precision of the fingertips was improved. The motor enables precise and stable control of the gripper’s fingertips, resulting in secure handling of items. Compared to, for example, pneumatic grippers, this solution ensures a more reliable and controlled process.
