The Optimax series of planetary gear units from ebm-papst are among the particularly robust, high-torque transmissions.
All gear parts are made of hardened steel and the planetary wheels are impregnated with synthetic oil to improve their sliding properties.
In addition, very large wheel width gears are fitted to transmit the highest possible power, minimizing surface pressure and wear on the tooth flanks despite the high torques. It also means that the lifetime of the planetary gear increases.
The design contributes to the resilience of the transmission and with the use of flat seals, the requirements of protection class IP54 are met as standard. Spiral bevel gears have also been deliberately omitted, making planetary gears ideal for industrial use, as the gears are very cost-effective.
Other typical applications include vehicles in intralogistics, cross-belt sortation, and barrier and door drives.
The Optimax series can be combined with all ECI, BCI and VD/VDC motors from ebm-papst. Prototypes are ready for shipment within just 48 hours.
