VENDLET Turning system
About VENDLET
VENDLET is an electric turning system for transferring and turning bedridden patients and citizens.
The VENDLET system is primarily used in nursing homes, residential homes, hospitals, or at home by the bedridden person or their relatives. The advantage of the electric turning system is that relatives or caregivers can safely and gently move the bedridden individual with a consistent motion without sudden jerks as with manual moving techniques and aids. This not only contributes to the comfort and well-being of the bedridden individual but also reduces the risk of work-related injuries among care and healthcare staff by minimizing the strain of heavy transfers.
Project description
The turning system from VENDLET consists of an electrically powered turning sheet that can be mounted on a standard care- or hospital bed. The turning sheet is fully automatic and makes it possible to move a person to supine, lateral, prone, or to move higher up or sideways in bed.
The system consists of two rollers equipped with motors mounted on either side of the bed. Between the two motor rollers, it is possible to attach a draw sheet that allows the draw sheet to move from side to side. A lifting system is also fitted at each end of the motorized rollers so they can be raised and lowered.
When the motorized rollers are raised, the sides also function as an integrated bed rail that can be raised and lowered using a hand control. The bed rail function is tested and approved by TÜV, which tests and certifies technical systems to improve safety.
The reversible system is also machine washable by automatic washing systems, making it easy to clean and minimizing infections.
Developed by GCM
For the electronic turning system from VENDLET, GCM has developed a customized gear motor with special ball bearings, electronics and cable assembly that is waterproof. Both the turning rollers and the lifting system are designed and developed at GCM. The parts are assembled and tested at our workshop in Sønderborg and then shipped to the customer.
